Our Story

IMG_2912.JPG

After leading our third-generation family business through a successful 60-year legacy and recent acquisition, we experienced firsthand the extraordinary rewards and unique complexities of family business. Guided by exceptional and trusted advisors who had walked the path before us, we learned that alignment, leadership, thoughtful planning, and the courage to have honest, difficult conversations—not just financial performance—determine whether a family business thrives or fades.. That journey inspired us to launch Mountz Family Business Advisors

Together, we work with passionate family business owners and their executives to create lasting success across generations.

Our Offerings

We begin by understanding your story — the people, the business, and the goals that matter most. From there, we identify key challenges, develop a focused plan, facilitate productive discussions that drive meaningful progress and deliver measurable outcomes.

Having worked with some consultants who offered little lasting value, we take a different approach. Our goal is to equip you and your team with the clarity, tools, and structure to succeed independently. We don’t want you to need us — we want you to choose to work with us because of the impact we help you create.

1. Strategic Vision  & Business Planning â€‹

Facilitate long-term vision setting, growth strategy, and actionable execution plans. Questions to consider:

  • Is your family aligned on where the business is heading in the next decade?

  • Do you have a written strategic plan — or is most of your direction discussed informally?

  • Are decisions made proactively or reactively to immediate challenges?

2. Family Dynamics & Alignment Coaching

Strengthen communication, resolve conflict, and align generations around shared goals. Questions to consider:

  • Are family and business discussions productive — or do they often lead to frustration or avoidance?

  • Do all generations feel heard and included in major decisions?

  • Are personal relationships being strained by business disagreements?

3. Leadership Development & Advisory

Coach family and key stakeholders to grow, collaborate, and sustain organizational success. Questions to consider:

  • Are next-generation leaders being intentionally developed and empowered?

  • Do you have the right people — family or not — in the right leadership roles?

  • Is the leadership team aligned around the same goals and accountability measures?

4. Succession & Transition Planning

Guide families through leadership and ownership transitions with clarity and confidence. Questions to consider:

  • Do you have a clear plan for who will lead your business in the next 5–10 years?

  • Have you discussed ownership or leadership transitions openly as a family?

  • Would your business continue smoothly if a key leader stepped away tomorrow?
